<p class="paragraph">We need to address the 'free' cam access issue -
yes, students can attend any lecture, but does this translate to
allowing everyone to see everything (including other student's
discussions or first draft Wiki)? This should be agreed at a
University level, and not be agreed by default by the University
Computing Services, CARET or whoever has technical permissions.

</b> Having said all this, I (an ex-Eng Lit student) have just spent
a happy half-hour on the Phytopedia site finding out how plants
survive in deserts. If things go the way of Phytopedia, I wonder if
we will eventually end up with a wonderful academic resource which
<i class="italic">should</i> be available to university members
in the spirit of academic enquiry. I agree that students discussions
or first drafts aren't in this category, but I think that perhaps
lecture notes should be.</p>
<p class="paragraph"><b class="bold">RW</b> but teaching staff, esp
hourly-paid ones, may assert rights over their material. Also,
breaches of copyright would become much more visible. This is a
bigger battle....</p>
<p class="paragraph"><b class="bold">HT</b> very true, Rhiannon, and I
think we need to contemplate both of these. I wonder whether the
Wiki needs some sort of 'copyright' note on it?</p>
<p class="paragraph">Have we come to a decision on this? We do need to!</p>
<p class="paragraph">Current problem: on following a link to a specific
page (not main login page) eg wiki page, user is directed straight
to Raven without any way of logging in as Friend. IB thinks it might
be possible to direct user by cancel mechanism from raven to friends
login.</p>
