The Checker Framework enhances Java's type system to
make it more powerful and useful. This lets software developers
detect and prevent errors in their Java programs.
The Checker Framework includes compiler plug-ins ("checkers")
that find bugs or verify their absence. It also permits you to
write your own compiler plug-ins.
Coding style
------------
When editing files in the Checker Framework, see Michael Ernst's coding
style guidelines:
http://homes.cs.washington.edu/~mernst/advice/coding-style.html
You may also wish to see Oracle's Java code conventions:
http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/documentation/codeconventions-136091.html#248
The codebase conforms to a consistent coding style, which is enforced by a git
pre-commit hook. The pre-commit hook runs "ant check-format" in the top level
directory. "ant reformat" will format all files such that check-format
succeeds.
