Talend ESB SE bundles Service Factory and Integration Factory, Service Locator, Service Activity Monitoring and a demo application to a stable, production ready distribution based on the industry leading open source frameworks Apache CXF and Apache Camel. It includes Web Service support based on JAX-WS and enables simple and scalable message based systems using well known Enterprise Integration Patterns. The Service Locator maintains a repository of service endpoints which can be used by Service Consumers to support simple failover and load balancing scenarios. Service Activity Monitoring allows to log and monitor service calls. A documented Car Rental demo application illustrates how to use these features.

SODA for Java is a library for writing Java apps that work with JSON (and not only JSON!) in the Oracle Database. SODA allows your Java app to use the Oracle Database as a NoSQL document store. You can use SODA to perform create, read, update, and delete (CRUD) operations on JSON documents, as well as arbitrary binary documents (images, PDFs, mp3s, etc). For all types of documents, CRUD operations are driven by keys (each document in SODA has a unique key). For JSON documents, in addition to keys, operations can be driven by easy to use pattern-like queries knowns as QBEs (queries-by-example).

The chart-fx charting library is an extension in the spirit of Oracle's XYChart and performance/time-proven JDataViewer charting functionalities. Emphasis was put on plotting performance for both large number of data points and real-time displays, as well as scientific accuracies leading to error bar/surface plots, and other scientific plotting features (parameter measurements, fitting, multiple axes, zoom, ...). The library also contains a small set of math routines that can operate directly on the DataSet primitive for fitting, computing spectra, linear algebra, FIR/IIR filtering, and other functionalities common to signal processing.

Red Hat Global Social Innovation Program is partnering with Boston University and Smarta Byar in order to collaborate on creating a global and open research platform allowing researchers to study what social sustainability means by using a digital twin of Veberöd, Sweden as the test village, supported by Smarta Byar. The goal of this collaboration is to build the open source technological infrastructure so that researchers can collaborate on this platform effectively to study mobility, public health, sustainability among other study areas to ultimately help define better the link between well being and eco-smart cities.
