.SH DESCRIPTION
hook_run\^(\^) will block until either the hook has completed or an error
occurred during the hook registration process.  You may assume successful 
completion of hook_run() after receiving an event of EVENT_HOOK_ENABLED.

The hook_stop\^(\^) function is asynchronous, and will only signal the running 
hook to stop.  This function will return an error if signaling was not possible.
