The cross-product of the intersected path segment and the intersection-to-document vector.
Given that the document was found to lie closest to the path element `A->B`,
the intersected path segment vector is `[ B.x - A.x, B.y - A.y ]`.
Furthermore, given that the intersection of that path element
occurred at point `I` for document location `D`,
the intersection-to-document vector is `[ I.x - D.x, I.y - D.y]`.
This is useful e.g. for finding what side of a path a document exists
by looking at the sign of this value.
