I built Oriental because we needed a convenient way to use OrientDB to create a backend REST API for a social network app, and so Oriental tends to provide functionality that better suits building REST APIs with it. I used Oriental with Java Spring, so if you're a Spring developer, Oriental's design will fit more naturally with your code.
