ALL SCHEMA FILES IN THE OPENTRAVEL ALLIANCE SPECIFICATION ARE MADE AVAILABLE ACCORDING TO THE TERMS DEFINED BY THE OPENTRAVEL LICENSE AGREEMENT AT http://www.opentravel.org/Specifications/Default.aspx.
The OpenTravel Rail Price request message is used to request rail itinerary pricing information for a specified origin/destination pair –and- specified passenger information, including passenger type, rate qualifier(s) and other passenger details.
Note that you may request pricing information by supplying passenger information AND:
Rail itinerary information (including Origin/Destination location details and train segment information)
-OR-
Booking Reference information (including the PNR address of the booking which needs to be priced, train segments that have already been booked and a fare basis code to be used to price the train segments in the PNR.
Additional price qualifier information that may be supplied includes:
Rate qualifier information for ALL travelers (including travel purpose, promotion codes and rate category that may affect the fare) and Payment form information (including form of payment to be used to pay for the reservation.)
Point of Sale Identification for the transaction initiator that includes the identification information of the party that has made the reservation request and optional information, such as an agency number assigned by IATA, ARC, ESRP or TID.
A rail itinerary to be priced.
Detail about one specific trip between this origin and destination location. This element will be repeated for each trip. For example, for a round-trip reservation, this element will occur two times.
Travel origin location.
Travel destination location.
A collection of train segments that provide journey information from origin to destination. Each segment has full details on one specific train segment, including the origin and destination locations for this segment, related travelers' request, etc.
Specific traveler preferences for the booking request, including accommodation selection and discount type.
The class of inventory controlled services available.
Up to 9 requested fare basis codes.
A reference to a Passenger Category. Note that this is only used to relate data within this message.
The marketing train company associated with this segment.
The direction of the trip, such as outbound and return.
Identifies the type of the trip, such as one way and open jaw.
The PNR address of the booking which needs to be priced, optionally including train segments (that have already been booked) and a fare basis code to be used to price the train segments in the PNR.
Train segments that have already been booked for which pricing is requested.
Departure train station.
Arrival train station.
Train identification including a train number and train network code.
The departure date and optionally a time period that can be applied before and/or after the departure date.
Used to specify the fare basis code to be used in pricing for these train segments or existing segments in the PNR.
Specific passenger information, including passenger type, rate qualifier and other passenger details.
Rate qualifying information for all travelers, such as travel purpose, promotion codes and rate category that may affect the fare.
Information about the form(s) of payment to be used to pay for this reservation. The element repeats to allow for multiple forms of payment to be used, if so required.
