Sanity4J was created to simplify running multiple static code
analysis tools on the Java projects. It provides a single entry
point to run all the selected tools and produce a consolidated
report, which presents all findings in an easily accessible
manner.
PreserveStackTrace
PreserveStackTrace
Throwing a new exception from a catch block without passing the original exception into the
new Exception will cause the true stack trace to be lost, and can make it difficult to
debug effectively.
This rule is defined by the following Java class:
net.sourceforge.pmd.rules.design.PreserveStackTrace
Example:
public class Foo {
void good() {
try{
Integer.parseInt("a");
} catch(Exception e){
throw new Exception(e);
}
}
void bad() {
try{
Integer.parseInt("a");
} catch(Exception e){
throw new Exception(e.getMessage());
}
}
}
