Sanity4J was created to simplify running multiple static code
analysis tools on the Java projects. It provides a single entry
point to run all the selected tools and produce a consolidated
report, which presents all findings in an easily accessible
manner.

BrokenNullCheck
BrokenNullCheck
The null check is broken since it will throw a NullPointerException itself.
It is likely that you used || instead of && or vice versa.
This rule is defined by the following Java class:
net.sourceforge.pmd.rules.basic.BrokenNullCheck
Example:
class Foo {
String bar(String string) {
// should be &&
if (string!=null || !string.equals(""))
return string;
// should be ||
if (string==null && string.equals(""))
return string;
}
}
