Sanity4J was created to simplify running multiple static code
analysis tools on the Java projects. It provides a single entry
point to run all the selected tools and produce a consolidated
report, which presents all findings in an easily accessible
manner.

UnsynchronizedStaticDateFormatter
UnsynchronizedStaticDateFormatter
SimpleDateFormat is not synchronized. Sun recomends separate format instances
for each thread. If multiple threads must access a static formatter, the
formatter must be synchronized either on method or block level.
This rule is defined by the following Java class:
net.sourceforge.pmd.rules.design.UnsynchronizedStaticDateFormatter
Example:
public class Foo {
private static final SimpleDateFormat sdf = new SimpleDateFormat();
void bar() {
sdf.format(); // bad
}
synchronized void foo() {
sdf.format(); // good
}
}
