The OpenWS library provides a growing set of tools to work with web services at a low level. These tools include classes for creating and reading SOAP messages, transport-independent clients for connecting to web services, and various transports for use with those clients.

The OASIS Web Services Security: SOAP Message Security 1.1 (WS-Security 2004) specification describes enhancements to SOAP messaging to provide message integrity and confidentialy. This specification also provides a general-purpose mechanism for associating security tokens with message content.


The security token profiles currently supported are:

Web Services Security UsernameToken Profile 1.1
Web Services Security: SAML Token Profile 1.1
Web Services Security X.509 Certificate Token Profile 1.1
Web Services Security Kerberos Token Profile 1.1
