This is an optimized version of Apache PDFBox. It allows to extract the rough structure of a document (pages, blocks of text and paragraphs as well as formatting information) and was made with the intent to optimize text extraction results for scientific papers. The output can easily be transformed to plaintext (toString) or to an XML format (toXML).

This service is an integration of Apache Tika project. It enables to extract metadata and text content of many kinds of files format. The WebLab document in input is enriched with RDF properties for the metadata and Text unit(s) for the content. The service can be configured through the Spring bean of CXF to handle various kind of features (identifying language or not, provide a normalised XHTML output of the document...).

Extracting command line options directly into data members: each field marked with an @External annotation automatically becomes a command line option. Extracting the options values from the command line arguments, i.e., the "String[] args" parameter to main, into the field(s), requires a single method invocation: Introspector.extract(args, o1, o2, ...) where o1,o2, ... are the objects in which the fields annotated with @External.

Protempa supports the construction of software systems for querying clinical databases, summarizing patient data, detecting clinically significant data patterns in groups of patients or individual patients, and extract, transform and load (ETL). Its special feature, temporal abstraction, supports queries and summarization of data in terms of temporal patterns. Temporal patterns enable robust querying and extraction of clinical history. These patterns include frequencies (at least two, three, etc. of some event or observation); sequences (chemotherapy followed by surgery within 180 days, a hospital encounter followed by another hospital encounter within 30 days); and overlaps (falling platelet counts in the setting of HELLP syndrome).

This is a simple Web Service Client library to call wide variety of web service behind HTTP. In theory it can support any interface or payload. On the request side, to convert java object to HTTP request components (URL, headers, body), templating is used which allows it to call XML, JSON, SOAP, REST or anyother custom interface. On the response side, it uses pluggable parser and a mapper to only extract the fields that are of interest for the client program. The parser currently supports JSON and XML and returns a collections tree.

Now you can assert that your newb co-worker doesn't replace your linear algorithm with an exponential one! minitest/mock by Steven Baker, is a beautifully tiny mock (and stub) object framework. minitest/pride shows pride in testing and adds coloring to your test output. I guess it is an example of how to write IO pipes too. :P minitest/unit is meant to have a clean implementation for language implementors that need a minimal set of methods to bootstrap a working test suite.
