The Transform SWF framework is a collection of classes for each of the tags and data structures that make up the Flash (SWF) File Format Specification from Macromedia. The classes provide a completely object-based API for parsing, manipulating and generating Flash files. This allows Java based applications to dynamically generate and update files that represent animations and documents which can be easily distributed and displayed on any platform that supports a graphical web browser.

The MAJ API (pronounced madge) is a pure Java API for creating, reading, manipulating and writing MXF (SMPTE ST 377), AAF structured storage and Reg-XML (SMPTE ST 2001) files. MXF files are commonly used as a container for professional media file formats and AAF is supported by a number of professional video editing packages. MXF and Reg-XML are used as part of the Interoperable Mastering Format suite of specifications.

This is a plugin to Madura Objects. It provides a rules/constraint engine to assist with validation, deriving new values from user inputs (eg total of invoices entered on this customer) an manipulating metadata (eg because the amount is above X we make some field readonly). Note that the Java that is using the monitored objects is quite unaware of the rules layer implemented here. That means you can change rules without having to go back to your Java code, and it also means you don't have to wonder if everything implemented the same rules. Anything using that Java object has the rules (unless you turn them all off).

JDOM is a Java-oriented object model which models XML documents. It provides a Java-centric means of generating and manipulating XML documents. While JDOM interoperates well with existing standards such as the Simple API for XML (SAX) and the Document Object Model (DOM), it is not an abstraction layer or enhancement to those APIs. Rather, it seeks to provide a robust, light-weight means of reading and writing XML data without the complex and memory-consumptive options that current API offerings provide. built July 23 2009
