Information extraction is the process of identifying specified classes of entities, relations, and events in natural language text – creating structured data from unstructured input. JET, the Java Extraction Toolkit, developed at New York University over the past fifteen years, provides a rich set of tools for research and education in information extraction from English text. These include standard language processing tools such as a tokenizer, sentence segmenter, part-of-speech tagger, name tagger, regular-expression pattern matcher, and dependency parser. Also provided are relation and event extractors based on the specifications of the U.S. Government's ACE [Automatic Content Extraction] program. The program is provided under an Apache 2.0 license.

This subproject provides a home to modules contributed by external developers which may or may not move into the officially supported code base over time. A module in this subproject doesn't have to obey the rule of staying binary compatible between minor releases. Breaking API changes may be introduced in minor releases without notice as we refine and simplify based on your feedback. A module may be dropped in any release without prior deprecation. The Lightbend subscription does not cover support for these modules.

iServe is what we refer to as service warehouse which unifies service publication, analysis, and discovery through the use of lightweight semantics as well as advanced discovery and analytic capabilities. iServe provides the typical features of service registries and additional functionality that exploits service descriptions, service annotations and further data gathered and derived from the analysis of these descriptions, data crawled from the Web, periodic monitoring and user activities. iServe builds upon lessons learnt from research and development on the Web and on service discovery algorithms to provide a generic semantic service registry able to support advanced discovery over both Web APIs and WSDL services described using heterogeneous formalisms.

The Infinispan Spring Integration project provides Spring integration for Infinispan, a high performance distributed cache. Its primary features are * An implementation of org.springframework.cache.CacheManager, Spring's central caching abstraction, backed by Infinispan's EmbeddedCacheManager. To be used if your Spring-powered application and Infinispan are colocated, i.e. running within the same VM. * An implementation of org.springframework.cache.CacheManager backed by Infinispan's RemoteCacheManager. To bes used if your Spring-powered application accesses Infinispan remotely, i.e. over the network. * An implementation of org.springframework.cache.CacheManager backed by a CacheContainer reference. To be used if your Spring- powered application needs access to a CacheContainer defined outside the application (e.g. retrieved from JNDI) * Spring namespace support allowing shortcut definitions for all the components above In addition, Infinispan Spring Integration offers various FactoryBeans for facilitating creation of Infinispan core classes - Cache, CacheManager, ... - within a Spring context.

This is the main aggregator for all implementation code shared between modules. Each module contains one or more service interfaces, exposed statically using "X_" prefixed classes. Core modules will define their API interfaces, their static accessor, and often a "plain-jre" default implementation which can be replaced by injection override. There must be zero external dependencies in any core modules. A low-performance, low-feature default is preferred over thick, dependency-ridden shared inherits.
