Graal is a java toolkit dedicated to ontological query answering in the framework of existential rules. We consider knowledge bases composed of data and an ontology expressed by existential rules. The main features of Graal are the following: a basic layer that provides generic interfaces to store and query various kinds of data, forward chaining and query rewriting algorithms, structural analysis of decidability properties of a rule set, a textual format and its parser, and import of OWL 2 files. We describe in more detail the query rewriting algorithms, which rely on original techniques, and report some experiments.

ToroDB is an open source project that turns your RDBMS into a MongoDB-compatible server, supporting the MongoDB query API and MongoDB's replication, but storing your data into a reliable and trusted ACID database. ToroDB currently supports PostgreSQL as a backend, but others will be added in the future. ToroDB natively implements the MongoDB protocol, so you can use it with MongoDB tools and drivers, and features a document-to-relational mapping algorithm that transforms the JSON documents into relational tables. ToroDB also offers a native SQL layer and automatic data normalization and partitioning based on JSON documents' implicit schema.

NoHR (Nova Hybrid Reasoner) is a plug-in for the ontology editor Protégé that allows its users to query knowledge bases composed of both an Ontology in OWL 2 EL or QL and a set of Reasoning Rules. Using a top-down reasoning approach, which means that only the part of the ontology and rules that is relevant for the query is actually evaluated, NoHR respectively combines the capabilities of ELK for OWL 2 EL and a dedicated direct translation for OWL 2 QL with the rule engine XSB Prolog to deliver very fast interactive response times. NoHR is the first hybrid reasoner of its kind for Protégé. NoHR is also distributed as an API.
