DynamicJasper (DJ) is an API that hides the complexity of Jasper Reports, it helps developers to save time when designing simple/medium complexity reports generating the layout of the report elements automatically. zlib is designed to be a free, general-purpose, legally unencumbered -- that is, not covered by any patents -- lossless data-compression library for use on virtually any computer hardware and operating system. The zlib data format is itself portable across platforms. Unlike the LZW compression method used in Unix compress(1) and in the GIF image format, the compression method currently used in zlib essentially never expands the data. (LZW can double or triple the file size in extreme cases.) zlib's memory footprint is also independent of the input data and can be reduced, if necessary, at some cost in compression.

GWTUpload is a library for uploading files to web servers, showing a progress bar with real information about the process (file size, bytes transferred, etc). It uses ajax requests to ask the web server for the upload progress. It has two components written in java, the server side with servlet and utility classes, and the client side that is compiled into javascript using gwt. GWTUpload-gae is a library with aditional classes needed for using GwtUpload in Google Application Engine (GAE). JSUpload is the client library but compiled and exported into javascript, so users without Gwt skills can use it directly in their web pages. This package contains a classifier that can be used to train a two-class kernel logistic regression model with the kernel functions that are available in WEKA. It optimises the negative log-likelihood with a quadratic penalty. Both, BFGS and conjugate gradient descent, are available as optimisation methods, but the former is normally faster. It is possible to use multiple threads, but the speed-up is generally very marginal when used with BFGS optimisation. With conjugate gradient descent optimisation, greater speed-ups can be achieved when using multiple threads. With the default kernel, the dot product kernel, this method produces results that are close to identical to those obtained using standard logistic regression in WEKA, provided a sufficiently large value for the parameter determining the size of the quadratic penalty is used in both cases.

BRAP is a Java and Android remoting protocol that uses native Java object serialization, encapsulated in HTTP. XBIS is an encoding format for XML documents that is fully convertible to and from text, with information set equivalence between the original document text and regenerated document text. It's intended for use in transmitting XML documents between application components, and is therefore designed for processing speed. The current Java language implementation offers several times the performance of SAX2 parsers working from text documents across a wide range of document types and sizes, and across JVMs tested, while also providing a substantial reduction in document size for most types of XML documents.
