A platform for discovery and communication between various parts of a distributed service or application. At its minimum, the platform is a library which can be used to serialize and deserialize application constructs into payloads which it can then send to and receive from remote endpoints. For now it supports TCP and HTTP communication protocols with WebSockets coming soon. It supports raw byte streams via TCP, as well as application/json via JAX-RS as serialization protocols. It offers plain or SSL/TLS communication for security of your data in transit. For now it is only available in Java, with bindings for other languages coming soon. The communication pattern is request-reply, with fail fast semantics, and with service consumers (clients) knowing beforehand the coordinates of the service providers (servers). The TCP communication protocol offers blocking/unblocking/asynchronous flavors whereas the rest are only blocking for now. Coming soon, the platform will provide a Discovery Service to facilitate the registration of the service providers (servers) and service consumers (clients). In this case, the callers don't need to resolve or even balance their calls towards various endpoints, since the Platform handles this tasks. In this case, the pub/sub communication pattern will also be available (coming soon) with at-most-once delivery guarantees. We intend to provide a Security Service for managing the keys/and certificates of various services as well as Metrics and Logging services (coming soon).

git-commit-id-plugin is a plugin quite similar to https://fisheye.codehaus.org/browse/mojo/tags/buildnumber-maven-plugin-1.0-beta-4 for example but as buildnumber only supports svn (which is very sad) and cvs (which is even more sad). This plugin makes basic repository information available through maven resources. This can be used to display "what version is this?" or "who has deployed this and when, from which branch?" information at runtime - making it easy to find things like "oh, that isn't deployed yet, I'll test it tomorrow" and making both testers and developers life easier. XApi is a dependency injection, service-oriented, polyglot java framework. It is comprised of standalone modules for use in web, desktop and mobile java applications. This codebase enables complete reuse of all code across your java stack, as well as the ability to easily define your own Platform, so you can build your own customized runtime environment to extend or replace existing platforms. It is currently geared towards servlets and gwt clients, but the target we are currently developing include: java, gwt [webkit, firefox, ie], javafx, playn [android, ios, flash], appengine & vert.x For Google Web Toolkit, we also include reflection support, more complete emulation of java.lang.Class, zero-overhead dependency injection, a range of code generation utilities, and even "magic-method injection" (for production compiles any method in the app can be swapped out with others based on configuration properties, or any AST mangling / code generating methods you wish to write). There is also a bytecode transformer in the works which will replace calls into the DI utility with direct references to static final factories, to allow the java compiler to completely erase all injection overhead in all java runtimes.

Jadex Rules is a small lightweight rule engine, which currently employs the well-known Rete algorithm for highly efficient rule matching. Jadex rules is therefore similar to other rule engines like JESS and Drools. Despite the similarities there are also important differences between these systems: * Jadex Rules is very small and intended to be used as component of other software. Even though rules can be specified in a Java dialect as well as (a small variation of) the CLIPS language its primary usage is on the API level. Jadex Rules is currently the core component of the Jadex BDI reasoning engine. * Jadex Rules cleanly separates between state and rule representation. This allows the state implementation as well as the matcher to be flexibly exchanged. Some experiments have e.g. been conducted with a Jena representation. Regarding the matcher, it is planned to support also the Treat algorithm, which has a lower memory footprint than Rete. * Jadex Rules pays close attention to rule debugging. The state as well as the rete engine can be observed at runtime. The rule debugger provides functionalities to execute a rule program stepwise and also use rule breakpoints to stop the execution at those points.
