Java's syntactic and library support for these components tends to cause the above concerns to be mixed with each other, with other concerns, and with low-level implementation details. This means that the code is cluttered, verbose and does not express intent very well. Jedi aims to repair this by providing a library of routines for filtering, iteration, conversion from one collection type to another, first order logic functions, etc. It makes extensive use of higher order functions and closures (also known as 'blocks' or 'lambdas' that can be implemented manually or by annotations.

"Tests with Parameters" allows you to simply add parameters to your JUnit test methods. TwiP calls such methods with all possible combinations of their parameters... or at least some reasonable subset of commonly failing values in the case of Integers, etc. You can further reduce these values with an assume expression in an annotation, e.g. ">= 0". Alternatively you can specify a static method or field to provide the values for your test method(s), if you want to test with other than the default values. By using TwiP you change the semantics of your tests from existence to for-all quantifiers, i.e. you specify "all ravens are black" instead of "Abraxas is black", "Toni is black", etc. This moves your tests closer to an executable specification, so TwiP is a very nice addition to BDD.

JFace is a UI toolkit with classes for handling many common UI programming tasks. JFace is window-system-independent in both its API and implementation, and is designed to work with SWT without hiding it. JFace includes the usual UI toolkit components of image and font registries, text, dialog, preference and wizard frameworks, and progress reporting for long running operations. Two of its more interesting features are actions and viewers. The action mechanism allows user commands to be defined independently from their exact whereabouts in the UI. Viewers are model based adapters for certain SWT widgets, simplifying the presentation of application data structured as lists, tables or trees.
